Welcome! Caroline Crocker is a biological scientist who is passionate about fighting for academic freedom and intellectual honesty. She is a popular speaker on issues of science and faith, addressing school, church, and other audiences. Dr. Crocker has also written magazine articles and been extensively interviewed for media, such as radio, books, newspapers, TV and movies. Beliefs Caroline Crocker considers it vital to the progress of science and even our culture that we fight to retain our freedom, and exercise our responsibility, to think, question and speak. She believes that we must be courageous enough to look the scientific evidence in the face and assess it in as impartial a manner as possible, even if it means giving up dearly-held philosophical viewpoints. Dr. Crocker endeavors to listen to others, who have opinions that differ from hers, with an open mind and strongly encourages everyone to do the same. She promotes logic and right thinking, rather than emotion and knee-jerk reactions, when assessing the information gathered. She opposes the usual cognitive bias towards conformity displayed by the scientific community. It is a fact that ad hominem attacks and the banning of certain thoughts stand in the way of the advancement of science. So, Dr. Crocker’s plea is that all sides of the evolution/Intelligent Design (ID)/Creationism debate spend less time attacking those who think differently from themselves and more time doing what will make us a more intelligent people...searching for the truth in an intellectual honest manner. As Darwin said in the Origin of Species, “A fair result could be obtained only by fully stating and balancing the facts on both sides of each question.”
